Growing Together: A Retreat to Remember

“Two are better than one…” — Ecclesiastes 4:9

Marriage is a beautiful journey—one filled with joy, growth, challenges, laughter, and countless opportunities to love, forgive, encourage, and grow together.

This year, Abundant Life Church International (ALCI) had the joy of hosting Marriage Matters Retreat 2026, a special time set aside for couples to pause from the busyness of everyday life and intentionally invest in what matters most: their marriage, their family, and their relationship with God.

Held at the beautiful Kimpton Cardinal Hotel in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the retreat was filled with meaningful conversations, laughter, fellowship, reflection, and unforgettable memories. It was more than a weekend away—it was an opportunity to reconnect, refresh, and be reminded of the blessing and responsibility of building a strong, Christ-centered marriage.

One of the greatest gifts we can give our marriages is the willingness to keep growing.

Growing together means choosing each other again and again. It means learning to communicate with grace, extending forgiveness, celebrating one another’s victories, and standing together through life’s challenges. Most importantly, it means inviting God into every season of the journey.

When Christ is at the center, marriage becomes more than a relationship between two people. It becomes an opportunity to reflect God’s love, demonstrate His grace, and encourage one another to become all that He has called us to be.

Marriage Matters 2026 gave couples the opportunity to reflect on that calling and be intentional about the marriages they are building.

We are grateful for every couple who participated in Marriage Matters 2026 and for every memory made along the way. We celebrate the laughter, the fellowship, the growth, and most of all, the opportunity to grow together in God’s love.

As we look back on this special weekend, our hearts are full of gratitude.

May we continue to grow together, love intentionally, serve faithfully, and keep Christ at the center of it all.
